About Apollo

Apollo is the Greek God of Light and Sun, truth and prophecy, archery, medicine and healing, music, poetry, and the arts. He is often associated with the lyre,a string instrument and the snake Python.

Why Yellow?

Like our awesome faculty with the brightest minds and most dynamic personalities, yellow is the colour of sunshine, optimism, friendship, fun, creativity and intelligence.

History of the bullboy

Apollo, being all mighty and powerful gained the respect of all other Greek Gods. However, he was getting bored up in the heavens. One day, he went to the Supreme Greek god Zeus, and pleaded for a chance to become a mortal, seeing how interesting life below the clouds could be.

During one of his previous trips to Earth, he had heard a nursery rhyme and was intrigued by it. It went like this:

Hey diddle diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.

Hmm, maybe being a cow would be interesting as well! He told Zeus and within seconds he found himself grazing along with other cows in a herd.

When the sun set, Apollo saw the beautiful moon for the first time from below the cloud, and was fascinated. He thought to himself: Perhaps, I could try to do like what the cow did in that nursery rhyme!

He took a few deep breaths, and leapt towards the moon at the speed of light. Just when Apollo was reaching the moon, he noticed a small yellow object moving around the moon. He then realized it was an ASTRONAUT! He exclaimed, “OH NO!!!!”

“BOOM BOOM POW!!” Apollo and the astronaut collided and were knocked unconscious. Making matters worse, a meteorite struck at the exact spot where Apollo and the astronaut were lying.

There was a cloud of dust and particles, and when it all cleared up, only Apollo’s head and the astronaut’s yellow headgear was left. Owing to the presence of radioactive substances, the two fused together, forming our beloved Bullboy, the pride and glory of our Faculty.
